Our 2020 Guest of Honor is Eamon Lynch. Eamon, born to Margaret and Peter Lynch of Bruskey Co. Cavan is one of 6 children, Bridie, Johnny, Mary, Cepta, and Peter. His sister Cepta is married to Thomas McMahon from Ballinagh, Cavan and member of Cavan P & B Association and Bridie, Johnny, Mary, and Peter are frequent visitors to Eamon and his family. Eamon immigrated to America at 19 and in 1986 he married Aileen White daughter of Pat (Loch Gowna) and Rose Gunner Brady (Mullahoran). Eamon trained as a mechanic and then at the age of 20 he started his own demolition company and has been self-employed in construction ever since. In 1990, the Celtic Tiger called and Eamon and Aileen returned to Ireland with their 3 daughters, Patricia, Kathleen and Annemarie; a few years later Rebecca and Aileen completed the family. In 2008 Eamon and Aileen returned to America where he again started to work for himself and is mentoring his daughters Kathleen and Annemarie and nephews Daniel Sheridan and Jason Lynch who are also entrepreneurs. Eamon and Aileen are steeped in Irish tradition and his love of Gaelic football which lead to Eamon managing Loch Gowna and Cavan ladies underage football teams for several years which saw his daughter’s teams winning championship and league medals. His eldest daughter Patricia went on to win an All-Ireland Intermediate Championship medal with Cavan ladies. In 2012, his daughter Annemarie proudly represented New York in the Rose of Tralee. Rebecca has followed her mother’s footsteps and is studying to be a nurse at Northeastern University, his youngest Aileen is studying business at DCU in Dublin. Kathleen is following in her father’s footsteps running a successful business with her cousin Daniel. Throughout the years Eamon continues to support Cavan and has been involved in a number of charitable causes. His latest endeavor is raising funds to build a school and housing in Africa where Aileen’s uncle Fr. Jim Brady is a Kiltegan missionary.
